What to Bring?

How Should You Dress?

What about Sitting & Breaks?

What about Lunchtime?

d
It is not required that you bring anything to Right Brain AerobicsTM class. These are only suggested tips that you may find helpful to be comfortable.

Journal/Notebook and Pen
You may like bringing a special notebook or journal and favorite pen. Writing your own personal notes comfortably is important in the exercises.

Favorite Water, Tissue, Creativity Items
Water or tissue may be provided, but to be comfortable you may prefer to bring your own brand.

Materials for exercises are provided, but if you like, you may also bring a couple of favorite personal creativity or artistic tools (e.g., colored pencils, small musical object, bell, etc. Or a favorite crystal, pendulum or similar object. Call with questions.

Three Stones

Electronics
While practicing right brain acumen awareness, it is useful not to bring items with sounds -- computers, PDAs, cell phones, beepers, alarms, etc.

Leave them in the car or at home or office. If they are required, you or your organization will be notified.*

d
Business casual dress is normally recommended.
Clothing and shoes/socks should be comfortable and not binding.

However, this is a right brain environment, so wear colors and styles that express and please you.

Wear layers, perhaps bring a light sweater or jacket. Temperatures vary in different settings and activities.

You will be sitting in a chair not on the floor. Choosing what you will wear or bring for the day is a right brain process. Be aware of thoughts and ideas that come to mind while making selections.

Perfumes or Scents
Right brain awareness includes heightened sensory awareness. It is preferable that you not use or bring external scents--perfumes, scented shampoos, aroma oils, etc. Aromas may be important sensory feedback during exercise. For your own experience and the health/comfort of others, it is useful not to wear external scents.

d
Sitting
You may spend a good part of the day sitting in a chair, so make yourself comfortable. You may have a small pillow, etc., that you prefer for long sitting.
Some processes will be done while walking or moving. If you have problems sitting for a while, you may stand or move during exercises as appropriate.

Breaks
We will take a several breaks of 15-20 minutes and an hour or more for lunch. It is recommended that you take some quiet time during these breaks.
You will be assimilating new input and experiences in right brain ways. Allow the right brain to become active before shutting it off through more dominant left brain activity.

Walking
Walking around for a few minutes is recommended during breaks or lunch -- outside if possible. It is preferable not to plan to spend the breaks returning calls or sending e-mail. You will be processing internal mental streams in a new way; allow time for creative ideas to surface.

d
Right Brain Lunch...
Be thoughtful and "aware" of your environment and mental state during lunch time. Right Brain Aerobics introduces calming awareness exercises to use in connection with mealtimes, which can improve digestion and mental focus.

While you need not eat alone, it is useful not to plan a social lunch, a stressful activity, a distracting "business lunch meeting" during lunch in the midst of encouraging and developing new right brain "connections."

Journaling and Lunchtime
You may find that creative ideas, unusual synchronicities, ideas for solutions occur at lunch or after lunch. Take your journal and write these down as they come to you. This is an important part of right brain practice.

Synchronicity...
Notice unusual events, coincidences and significant right brain perceptions that occur during breaks or after the training. Record them in your journal. Share any that are appropriate with the group. Others may have had similar experiences.
